Refinishing
Breslow Drum Company offers drum size alteration and refinishing. I am more than happy to work with an existing drum set or I can custom fabricate a unique one-of-a-kind instrument of art for you. I can re-wrap your existing kit or I can create a custom finish influenced by you, the musician. I  work with a variety of materials to achieve your artistic and percussive vision.
Restoring
I am great at cleaning old dirty things, so restoring a dusty and rusty basement set is right up my alley. I have experience restoring vintage drums and hardware. I have collected and restored drums from the 1930s up to modern drums. I can re-wrap, clean and repair your vintage drums.

Repurposing
The majority of the drum sets I have created have been recycled or reclaimed in some way. I enjoy working with a musician to breathe new life into their existing older kit. Changing the size of the drums is a great way to lighten up the weight of a drum set, and add a more punchy direct sound. These drum sets are great for large venue shows as well as coffee shops and farmers markets.

The story
The Breslow drum company was born May 2017, when I was struggling to schlep my drum equipment through our guitar player's packed driveway and then down a series of steps to his basement. I realized immediately that modifications needed to be made to scale down my drum kit. I Joined an amazing group of musicians and we started to play out immediately. Most of our shows were coffee shops, farmers markets and small venues. My drums needed to be quiet, compact and versatile. I converted a 16" x 16" floor tom into a kick drum, and cut my rack tom and floor tom down in size. This first drum set was small and easy to transport. It sounded punchy and refined all at once. It was clear to me these drums needed a unique look to match it's one of a kind sound. I decided to rip the ugly black wrap off of the kit and cover it with maps of places I had traveled to. This process felt right to me, and a new passion was born. It was the perfect balance with my fine arts background and love for design and fabrication. For two years I experimented with covering drum sets in bottle caps, license plates, fine art prints and even my life-long collection of drumsticks. During this time I was also refining my restoration techniques on vintage drums, hardware and cymbals. So I am now ready to share my talents with other drummers. I enjoy the creative challenge of working with a drummer  to reach their musical and artistic vision.
